Young American baritone Kenneth Weber has recently entered the operatic scene with a critically-acclaimed, fully-developed dramatic baritone voice with the theatrical and artistic talent to match. He sang his first Germont in La Traviata for Shreveport Opera and Tonio in I Pagliacci for Opera Las Vegas in 2008, as well as his first Masetto in Don Giovanni for New Orleans Opera, while adding the Forrester in The Cunning Little Vixen to his repertoire for Chautauqua Opera. His upcoming engagements include the title role in Sweeney Todd for Mobile Opera and Carmen for New Orleans Opera. Recently he sang his first Count Di Luna in Il Trovatore for a return to Mobile Opera, his first Blitch in Susannah for Opera in the Ozarks and returned to New Orleans Opera for Gianni Schicchi and Faust. In 2005 Ken sang the role of Thomas Putnam in Mobile Opera's The Crucible, returned to New Orleans for Otello, Le Nozze di Figaro and The Barber of Seville, Shreveport Opera for Carmen, Le Nozze di Figaro and Sweeney Todd and debuted with the Chautauqua Opera. He has appeared with New Orleans Opera in Rigoletto, Madama Butterfly, Manon and The Ballad of Baby Doe and made his debut with Mobile Opera in The Mikado.
Ken has sung principal roles with the Loyola University Opera Theater and several roles at the Aspen Music Festival as well as Beethoven’s 9th Symphony with Musica Sacra in Mobile and concerts with St. Paul’s Choral Society.
A native of Los Angeles, Ken Weber holds degrees in vocal performance from Boston College and New England Conservatory.
